Geckos live around the world except Antartica. They live for 30 years. They are reptiles meaning that they are cold-blooded and they lay eggs. As any other reptile gecko molts.  Geckos are omnivorous, eating plants as well as insects and sometimes mice. 
They have special toe pads helping them cling on walls and ceilings.
The tail of these lizards is a fat storage for rainy days, helps them keep their balance and last but not least it is important to escape from predators, leaving it behind.
