Later the mouse met a snake. The snake invited the mouse to have lunch with him. The mouse declined the invitation and he said he would meet a gruffallo. The mouse described the creature as having orange eyes, a black tongue and purple prickles on his back. The snake found out that the gruffallo's favourite dish was scrambled snake and he slid back in his log - pile house.

Once upon a time there was a cat which saved people from sly foxes. The sly foxes stole ducklings, rabbits and even carrots or green apples when they were on a diet. The cat had a friend named Owl which was a sea horse which lived in a hive. The sea horse guarded the yards and he called the cat whenever the foxes appeared.
