The name of the bird is Kakapou and it lives in New Zealand. It is a nocturnal animal and it looks like an owl with whiskers, necessary to orientate himself in the dark.It climbs trees instead of flying because it can't fly, having no natural predators and because it is pretty heavy. Moreover Kakapou can live up to 100 years and it breeds every 4 years.

The Sahara desert is the home of Fennec Fox which is the size of a walking boot with rabbit-like ears

and furry pads on their feet for maximum traction and protection from excessive heat. Moreover, their ears help them cool off and their camouflage fur helps them to stay safe from predators. At the foot of dunes is the best spot to dig a burrow and that's why Fennec Foxes dig there to protect themselves from Sahara sun's heat.
